Perfect Pairs

Everybody thinks that Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif are the only pair that click at the box office. But there's Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan as well. Remember Jodhaa Akbar and Dhoom 2? Now the two are paired together for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish. Hrithik will play a wheelchair-bound paraplegic, but not much is known about Ash's role. As far as Sanjay is concerned, there is a lot riding on this film as his last one Saawariya was quite a flop at the box office. Lets hope the third Hrithik-Ash collaboration will work wonders for them at the box office!

Phir Kabhi

One can't be expected to get excited after listening to the music of Phir Kabhi.
The album carries the name Shantanu Moitra as the composer and Ajay Jhingran as the lyricist but that's not really good enough to make a good album.
Phir Kabhi is a short album with only four songs in it. The opening number 'Dekho Ji Dekho' is sung by Dibyendu Mukherji and Sunidhi Chauhan. The song tries to bring in the style from the 60s and today with an element of jazz. In the result, a lot of noise is created which is best left ignored.
Next is the title song 'Phir Kabhi' which is reasonably better though only in the parts sung by Shaan. The song is completely situational and is yet another track that one wishes to move on pronto.
Lyricist Ajay Jhingran sings 'Bhai Re' which is set in the mode similar to that of many a Shantanu Moitra tune. With Shreya Ghoshal joining him, Ajay continues imparting Bengali flavour to it. An old fashioned number that just manages to hang on, 'Bhai Re' isn't different from what one has heard in Shantanu's earlier albums like Parineeta or Lage Raho Munnabhai.
Last is 'Jheeni Jheeni' which is sung by Bhupinder Singh and Hamsika Iyer. It is an extremely slow moving track. 'Jheeni Jheeni' is barely passable and only becomes boring as it progresses.
Rest of the album comprises Shantanu's earlier compositions from Welcome To Sajjanpur ('Sita Ram Sita Ram', 'Dildara') and Lage Raho Munnabhai (title song, 'Pal Pal Har Pal').
Phir Kabhi doesn't work. For a very mini scule segment of audience searching for folk and classical flavour in their music it may be catchy. But for the masses, there is absolutely nothing to pick and choose from.

The Diplomatic Imran

Imran Khan is not affected by the Khan war and says that he shares a good relationship with mamu's foe Shah Rukh Khan. The actor was even invited to SRK's bash for Gerard Butler. "SRK and I belong to the same industry and my relationship with him is just as normal as it can be with anyone. He has been very cordial to me (Imran and his girlfriend Avantika were invited to SRK's bash for Gerard Butler) regardless of what has been written about him and Aamir. I know that between the two everything's fine," he says. Well Imran, you certainly know the art of balancing!

Akki Wraps Up Kat

Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif have done six movies together and they believe that is enough time to know each other well enough, and we are not talking professionally. According to sources, while shooting for a rain song in Priyadarshan's De Dana Dan at a Mumbai film studio, Akshay was worried about Katrina staying wet for too long. When Katrina began shivering, he ordered the crew to switch off the air-conditioning and ensured that she was wrapped up in thick towels. He claimed he knew, from his past working experiences with the actress that she would come down with a fever the next day if she didn't take care. "He treats me like a baby," muttered Katrina. Now all this is cute, but I wonder what her beau Salman Khan has to say about such familiarity?

Deepiaka Lashes Out

Deepika Padukone is the star of Love Aaj Kal, but what everybody is talking about is the fact that Kareena Kapoor is not. Especially considering it's Bebo's beau Saif Ali Khan's home production. This has annoyed Deepika to no end. "Imtiaz (the director of the film) was so sure that he wanted me for the part that he offered me Love Aaj Kal even before my first film Om Shanti Om was released. So there was no question of any other actress being in the film. It's understandable if Saif wanted Kareena in it. They've worked together in the past. And I'm sure he wants to work with her in his home production. If I was in Kareena's place, I'd feel the same way. I'd like to work with Ranbir (Kapoor) in every film!" the starlet declares.
